Sea Devil Athletes and Coaches Receive Region 10 Accolades

Cape Fear Community College athletics finished another successful season with 2 Region 10 Regular Season Championships, 1 Region 10 Tournament Runner-up, 1 Region 10 Tournament Championship, 1 District Championship, 2 Region 10 Coach of the Year awards and 19 student athletes were named to the 2016-17 Region 10 All Region Team.

Men's Basketball finished their season with a record of 24-8 and 7-5 in conference play and showcased 3 All-Region members. Alonzo Tyson, Jacque Brown, and Trae Bryant were all named 1st Team All-Region.

Men's Soccer compiled an overall record of 3-13 and 3-11 in conference play. Cristian Calderon and Lennon-McCartney Barrier both garnered Honorable Mention All-Region awards.

Women's Basketball finished the season with a record of 26-5 and 16-2 in conference play while winning the Region 10 Regular Season title and earning Region 10 Tournament Runner-up. Destiny Campbell and TaKwana Bland both earned 1st Team All-Region awards and Head Coach Lori Drake was named Region 10 Coach of the Year.

Women's soccer amassed a 17-3 overall record and an 11-1 record in conference play, winning the Region 10 Regular Season title, Region 10 Tournament Championship, District Championship and a trip to the NJCAA National Tournament for the first time in school history. The Women's Soccer team also boasted eight players on this year's All-Region team including four to the 1st team Jenna Pecorini, Alyssa Coustenis, Sierra Raynor, and Celine Jacobi Barham. Alley Ethridge, Briley Eason, and Raimie Cooper were named to the 2nd team and Sydney Parker netted Honorable Mention All-Region. Other awards for Women's Soccer included Raime Cooper earning NSCAA Academic All American 1st team and Alyssa Coustenis and Sierra Rayner earned NSCAA All South Region team. Also, Head Coach Ryan Deppa was named Region 10 Coach of the Year.

Volleyball finished their season with a 21-7 overall record and a 15-1 record in conference play. Tressa Amico, Cali Watson, and Chelsea Bailey were named 1st Team All-Region, while Ali Jenkins was named 2nd Team All-Region.
