Sea Devils in the Community

Sea Devil Athletics and Community Service

Serving the Wilmington community is a primary focus of the CFCC athletic program. The Department of Athletics strives to establish a commitment of service to others as a foundation for a balanced student-athlete lifestyle.  By providing opportunities for student-athletes to serve, these young men and women make meaningful contributions to society.  Our student-athletes are challenged to provide service to our community and individuals who are in need. With a clearly defined program of service, student-athletes are given the opportunity to develop a lifelong commitment to volunteerism.

Student-athletes are involved in numerous charities, non-profit agencies, community organizations, schools and hospitals. Some student-athletes have also created, initiated and implemented service projects with assistance and support from in class instruction.

Currently, our student-athletes have performed hundreds of community service hours and have impacted countless lives in the Wilmington community.  Through the involvement of coaches, administrators, student-athletes, cheerleaders and “Ray” the mascot, Sea Devil athletics is working together to make our community a better place to live.

Commitment to Service Initiative

The goal of this initiative is to give back to Wilmington and the surrounding service area and foster a balanced student-athlete lifestyle by providing student-athletes with the opportunity to learn life skills, build strong character, develop a commitment to volunteerism and learn to appreciate the value of giving.  From this collaborative effort and achieving our goal, "we can make a difference" in the community.
