New Port Richey, Florida - The women's volleyball team would fall short in both matches today, losing to Kansas City Community College 0-3, and then later to South Florida State 2-3.
Against Kansas City, Cape Fear would lose by scores of 18-25, 18-25, and 24-26.
Despite the loss, head coach Emily Coleman was pleased with her team's effort. "We fought hard and played stronger than we have. We just cannot give up runs or take sets off."
Later, against South Florida State, the Sea Devils would rally after losing the first two games, and win the next two by scores of 25-20, and 28-26, before losing the final game 11-15.
Tyndall would record 14 kills while Markle would finish with 12. Bailey would finish with 31 digs.
Again, coach Coleman praised her team's effort. "Our fight is getting better. We have to eliminate silly errors that create momentum for the other team."
With today's losses, the Sea Devils move to 3-4 on the season.
Their next game is Saturday, September 10th, at 12 noon.
