Bio

Trent Brinkley returns for his second season with Sea Devil Athletics as a game day intern. Brinkley spent his first season during the 2015-2016 season with the men's and women's basketball programs where he served as a team manager for the men's basketball team while also serving as the lead social media liaison for men's and women's basketball programs. 

In 2016-2017, Brinkley will spearhead and lead the brand new game-day experiences for Sea Devil Nation. Brinkley will serve as a secondary media contact for public relations, game day articles, and the athletics' media efforts with the school's  varsity sports to constantly update and maintain the athletics website for accuracy and immediacy.

He will be responsible as the lead statistician at home basketball and soccer games, running the Live Stats Gametracker; an interactive way where fans can follow the game on a play-by-play basis. He will also be responsible for producing a variety of communication materials from written to multimedia elements to help promote and publicize our athletics through several media channels and multimedia communication outlets (game day previews, game notes, weekly podcast, press releases, in-game music playlists, GIFs/highlights).

He also will create and oversee several Sea Devil Athletics social media outlets on Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat used to promote the teams with Live Highlights, Coach's Presser, 3 Stars of the Game, etc. He also has created new in-game promotions for fans attending games with the developmentof halftime promotional games for fans to compete in and win prizes from the college's corporate sponsors. As well as in-game promotions like "CFCC Tees for 3's", "FREE Pizza Screams", and"Sea Devil Trivia". 

Brinkley receivied his undergraduate degree from East Carolina University in 2014 in B.S. Kinesiology and Sport Studies, with a minor in Journalism. During his time at ECU, Brinkley gained valuable work experiences in a wide variety of sports outside of radio as well, with experiences in marketing, communications, and athletics. 

Brinkley served as one of the leaders and organizers of the Minges Maniacs for 3.5 years, the ECU Men's/Women's Basketball student section, winners of the 2014 C-USA Student Section of the Year. He also served as a committee member for the Student Activities Board on the Promotion, Entertainment, Visual Arts, Initiative, Special Events, and Budget/Developmental Team. 

A native of Raleigh, North Carolina, Brinkley moved to Wilmington and attended John T. Hoggard High School (2007-2011) where he was a four-year varsity participant on the cross country team. 

Outside of his work with the Sea Devils, Brinkley can be found as "The Voice" of New Hanover HS Wildcats baseball at their home games at Buck Hardee Field, as well as serving as a T-Ball Instructor and Youth Sports Coach with i9Sports of Wilmington.
