The 18th ranked Cape Fear Community College men's basketball team rolled to a 113-41 victory over Stillwater Christian Prep at the Schwartz Center on Friday night.
Five different players scored in double figures for the Sea Devils, who improved to 1-0 with the season opening win.
"I thought we came out ready to go tonight," said CFCC Coach Ryan Mantlo. "This time of year practice can become a grind so I think the kids were happy to be playing a real game."
Sophomore guard TJ Evans (Apex, NC / Apex HS) dropped a game-high 19 points, while Tyrek Coger (Raleigh, NC / Word of God Christian Academy) and Josh Lindsey (North Myrtle Beach, SC / North Myrtle Beach HS) each had 18 points apiece. Coger notched his first double double in a Cape Fear jersey grabbing 11 boards. Cape Fear also had two player's record double-doubles, including Alonzo Tyson (17 points/12 rebounds) and DeVarte Watson (12 points/10 rebounds).
The nationally-ranked Sea Devils get back on the court Saturday afternoon against Hines Prep. Tip-off is slated for 3p.m. in downtown Wilmington.
