Played four years of varsity basketball at Farmville Central HS (NC), where he was part of the Jaguars' Men's Basketball team that went (90-17) in his four years; (51-3) in his final two years, including a (28-0) record his senior year that earned the school the 2016 NCHSAA State Championship.

Played his high school basketball career with current Sea Devil teammate Michael Taylor under Farmville Central HS men's basketball head coach Larry Williford. Was a three sport athlete for the Jaguars, played baseball, basketball, and football.
