Men’s Soccer Falls 4–0 at Louisburg College
Cape Fear Community College men's soccer faced a tough challenge on the road at Louisburg College on Wednesday, ultimately losing 4–0.
The Sea Devils struggled to generate offensive opportunities, recording only two shots in the match, while Louisburg efficiently converted all four of its scoring chances. An early red card to Victor Stovall put Cape Fear at a numerical disadvantage, making it difficult to compete against a disciplined Louisburg squad.
Goalkeeper Aydan Scharf made seven saves in 70 minutes, with Jayden Drum and Aleksei Myers combining for additional minutes in goal, totaling eight saves for the Sea Devils. Despite the scoreline, the team continued to compete hard, staying organized and resilient under pressure.
"Proud of the whole team for not giving up. Playing with 10 men for 80 minutes is super hard in any sport, especially at this level. But you take it on the chin and move on," said Coach Vlahos
The Sea Devils now turn their focus to Monday's home match against Patrick & Henry Community College, hoping to regroup and get back on track in Region 10 play.
