Sea Devils Open Season with Dominant Win at Catonsville
Cape Fear Community College women's basketball opened its 2025–26 season with an emphatic 71–44 victory over CCBC Catonsville, moving to 1–0 on the year.
The Sea Devils set the tone early, taking control with aggressive rebounding and smart transition play. R'Mani Robinson led the way with a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds while also adding 3 assists and 3 steals. Yamorie Hardison also notched a double-double, finishing with 13 points and 16 rebounds, along with 5 assists. Monica Surratt contributed 17 points and 4 rebounds, while Maggie Hawley added 11 points, helping Cape Fear extend its lead through consistent scoring and efficient fast-break execution.
"We came out strong and really set the tempo," said head coach Felecity Havens. "Our effort on the boards and in transition was the difference. We shared the ball, trusted each other, and finished plays. It was a great way to open the season."
Cape Fear will return to the hardwood tomorrow to face Hagerstown (MD) at 1:00 p.m., looking to build on the momentum from this strong start.
