Bio

Abby Vendemia joined the Sea Devils as Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach in August of 2023 after serving as a Defensive Specialist for the Sea Devils Volleyball team since 2021. In January 2026, Vendemia was promoted to Associate Head Coach. 

During her playing career with the Sea Devils, Vendemia was a part of both the 2021 Region 10 Conference Tournament Championship team and the 2022 District Tournament Championship team that received bids to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament, where the Sea Devils won their first-ever national tournament match in program history in 2022. Vendemia received the Coach's Award for CFCC Volleyball in her Sophomore season of 2022-2023.

In addition to her role with the Sea Devils, Coach Vendemia is currently the Head U16 Coach at East Coast Volleyball Academy.

Vendemia aspires to continue growing in her coaching education and pursuits following her graduation from UNC Wilmington in May 2026 with her bachelor's degree in Tourism, Recreation, & Sport with a concentration in Recreational Sport Leadership.

Abby is originally from Snow Hill, NC, where she played volleyball for Greene Central High School.

"As a coach, I want to be a mentor, role model, and positive influence in the lives of young athletes," says Vendemia. "I believe in building not only strong volleyball players, but strong individuals...and I aspire to create an environment where athletes can feel confident, supported, and challenged - both on and off the court. Ultimately, my mission is to help athletes grow into the best version of themselves: as teammates, competitors, and people."
