Bio

Kara Walker enters her first season as the Assistant Volleyball Coach at Cape Fear Community College in 2026. A former Sea Devil student-athlete, Walker returns to the program after a successful collegiate playing career and coaching experience at boththe club and high school levels.

A native of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Walker played at Terry Sanford High School, where she earned First Team All-Conference honors during her sophomore and junior seasons before being named Conference Player of the Year during her senior season in 2020-21.

Walker continued her playing career at Cape Fear Community College from 2021-23, where she played as an outside hitter and helped lead the team to back-to-back NJCAA National Tournament appearances. During her freshman season in 2021, Cape Fear won the Region 10 Championship, while Walker earned East Region Offensive Player of the Year, First Team All-Region, and team MVP honors. As a sophomore in 2022, she earned First Team All-Region and team MVP honors while helping lead the Sea Devils
to a District Championship and the program's first national tournament match victory.

Following her time at Cape Fear, Walker continued her collegiate career at Francis Marion University from 2023-25. During her two seasons with the Patriots, she earned Third Team All-Conference Carolinas honors in both years while also leading the team in total kills during her senior season.

In addition to her playing experience, Walker has coached two seasons of club volleyball with East Coast Volleyball Academy and previously served as an Assistant Coach at Carolina Academy in Lake City, South Carolina.

As a coach, Walker is passionate about helping student-athletes grow both on and off the court. She strives to create a positive and competitive environment that emphasizes accountability, confidence, and continuous improvement while helping players reach their full potential.
